MISSION OF THE MINISTRY OF MONITORS AND READERS
Ministry means Service, therefore we are servants of the parish community. Our mission focuses both on preparing and guiding the People of God to live a dynamic and meaningful Eucharistic Celebration, and on participating and promoting community service initiatives in our parish.
• We comply with the adequate preparation and we arrive in advance to fulfill the assigned functions
• We present an appropriate image and projection
• We actively promote and participate in community service initiatives
IMPORTANCE OF THE MONITOR
The Monitor guides the faithful during the Eucharistic Celebration.
To achieve it efficiently ...
• Verify that the book of the monitions is on the day that corresponds.
• Make sure you have the page of the parish intentions and notices.
• Confirm the arrival of readers and, if necessary, identify the alternate reader.
• At the beginning of the Holy Mass, he welcomes the parishioners and invites them to put themselves in an attitude of spiritual recollection.
IMPORTANCE OF THE READER
The Reader proclaims the Word of God.
• The Proclamation of the Word of God is an act by which God enters into relationship with his people at a precise moment in history. Prior to the Second Vatican Council, the Reader was an ordained minister.
• As a minister of the Word of God, the Reader officially directs other people to God. It has the responsibility to place the assembly in a position to listen to the Word of God to understand what the Lord wants to transmit through His Word.
• Christ is always present in His Word and by Proclaiming the Word, the Reader becomes an instrument of that presence.
